Our Story
Honestly? Harbor started as a conversation over coffee — probably a really good one. I'm Gabrielle, and my husband Kaan and I had been talking about this for years. The kind of place we actually wanted to go to in the morning. Somewhere that felt real, not rushed. Where the food was made with care and the coffee didn't taste like an afterthought.
Between the two of us, we brought years of business experience to the table — Kaan in operations and management, and me in hospitality and customer experience. We knew how to build something. We just needed the right something to build. Turns out, it was this.
We had the passion long before we had the plan. There were late nights sketching ideas, weekends testing recipes, a hundred "what if we actually did this" moments before we finally said — okay. Let's do it.
Opening Harbor was terrifying and exciting and completely worth it. Every single day we get to pour that love into what we make — and we get to see people actually enjoy it. That never gets old.
A harbor is where you come in from the storm. It's calm, it's warm, it's yours for a little while. That's exactly what we wanted this place to feel like — whether you're grabbing a quick espresso before work or sitting by the window for an hour because you just needed a moment. We wanted Harbor to be that place for people.
We cook clean — and honestly, we're a little obsessed with it. Everything is made with 100% cold pressed virgin olive oil and the freshest ingredients we can get our hands on. We don't cut corners because we eat here too — and so do our kids, our friends, our neighbors. When something makes it onto our menu, it's because we genuinely love it and we'd be happy ordering it ourselves. That's the only standard that makes sense to us.
Gabrielle & Kaan
We never cut corners. Every ingredient is chosen with care, and every item on our menu has been tasted, refined, and perfected before it reaches you.
Our kitchen opens early every morning so that everything you eat is made that day. No shortcuts, no freezers — just fresh food, every single time.
Harbor is more than a coffee shop — it's a neighborhood spot. We know our regulars, support local suppliers, and take pride in being part of South Jersey's fabric.
